Lea has known John Beatty almost her entire life, as one of her best friend’s dad. Someone, she considered her second dad. Valerie met him for the first time this past February at the annual African American Festival at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. They both learned the hidden truths about him and his musical life and family over the course of lunch. It was a delightful story, and one they wish to share with anyone who is looking to be inspired.
